My inspiration to create this artwork was the love for soccer that I have. Soccer is my number one sport since I was a little girl. I chose to do a collage of famous soccer players because not many people know stuff about soccer and who they are. I picked around twenty soccer players that I look up to. Each one of them have something special that has changed their individual team or the sport. I made my artwork by using different materials. I used a poster to make a soccer ball and put the pictures around the ball. I also used a ruler to draw the pentagons to create the soccer ball. I would have to say that drawing the pentagons was the hardest thing to do on my collage because I thought that I could just draw straight and perfect lined pentagons but it wasn't like that. I like to draw them differently and had to curve some of them because the ball was round and not straight. On the pictures I added more white to represent the white pentagons and I added more dark grey and black to represent the black pentagons on a soccer ball. Overall I was pretty happy with my artwork because it was the first big thing that I did. In my old art class we would just learn about the history of art and didn't actually show us anything. I think that when you see my collage you can tell that it's a soccer ball and that it can show how much I look up to these soccer players and how talented they are.

I wanted to to something way different than what I did for this project. At first I wanted to draw an elephant with different designs that had tattoos but then I knew that it was going to take a long time drawing the elephant, adding the tattoos, and then trying to cut out every design/tattoos. So I just did something very simple. My inspiration for this artwork was that one day, I was watching the discovery channel and a lion pops up so I just decided to draw a lion but more particularly I wanted to draw Zimba from the Lion King movie. I tried to draw the lion very well because it was the only thing that I was going to do. I didn't want to add anymore detail. The reason why my lion is so simple is because I wanted the people to look at the drawing. I'm not a good drawer at all so drawing this lion very carefully was a risk for me. I had to be patient if my drawing was crooked or if it wasn't drawn right. Overall I'm satisfied on how my lion looked like. It actually looked like a good lion.

For this artwork we had to pick a picture that would represent us or that had a meaning to us. I chose a picture of my sister and I. My sister and I have been together since day one. She's my other half and I can't imagine life without her. I chose the colors turquoise, orange, and pink to represent the relationship that I have with my sister. The turquoise meant unity and protection because I'm very protective over her. The orange represented the fun and how well we get along. And then the pink represented how much I love her and how much she means to me. While I was in the process of printing my pictures nothing looked similar to the picture. I don't know if I did everything wrong but I feel like I destroyed the picture and the final picture didn't give it meaning as I was going for. In the end, I made mistakes and I have to learn from them and try not to make them again.

For this project we had to do an altered book. We had to have a theme and create the book how we wanted it. My theme for this book was Mexico. I chose this theme because Mexico is my favorite place and it's home. I'm from there and I have so much family down there. If I could I would go down there and visit as much as I can. I picked 5 cities from Mexico. Each city has its own culture and traditions so I thought that could be interesting and let people know the different stuff Mexico has. The one city that I really liked was the first one: Torreon. Torreon is where I'm from and where all of my family is from. Every time I say Torreon is reminds me of my family and the unity that we have. I added different colors of paint to each city to represent the elegance in each one of them and I also added a lot of pictures so people could see what each city has to bring and what it's made of.
